Who we help

You don't need to be an athlete.

Most of the people we help simply want their body to feel and move better.

You may spend long hours sitting at a desk. You might have a physically demanding job. You may train regularly, play sport, walk the fells or simply notice that certain movements aren't as comfortable as they used to be.

Whatever the reason, we start by understanding you, rather than simply treating where it hurts. Assessment, hands-on therapy and practical advice, to help manage your symptoms, improve movement and support your long-term health.

People come to us for

  • Back, neck and shoulder discomfort
  • Muscular tightness and stiffness
  • Restricted movement
  • Recurring aches and niggles
  • Sports and training problems
  • Recovery after a busy spell of activity
  • Tension from work
  • Keeping mobile as they get older

You don't need to know which treatment you need. We'll talk through your symptoms, movement and goals first, then recommend what suits you.

Why we do it

More than getting rid of a knot.

Treatment shouldn't just make you feel better for a day or two. We want to help you understand your body, manage what's bothering you, and stay active for as long as possible.

  • It might mean getting back to the gym.
  • It might mean walking without thinking about your back.
  • It might mean moving your shoulder comfortably again.
  • Or it might mean making looking after your body part of your routine.

We want to help you build a body that keeps serving you well in your 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.

Your appointment

What happens when you come in.

No pressure to commit to a long course of treatment. We'll tell you what we think is right and let you decide.

  1. We listen

What's brought you in, how long it's been bothering you, and how it's affecting your everyday life.

  2. We assess

Where it helps, we look at how you move and the areas adding to your symptoms.

  3. We treat

Your treatment is tailored to what we find, and to what you're comfortable with.

  4. We help you move forward

Practical advice or simple exercises, so you can keep on top of it outside the clinic.

Frequently asked questions

A few things
to know.

Something we've not covered? Drop us a message on WhatsApp or email [email protected].

Do I need to play sport?

Not at all. Despite the name, sports massage and sports therapy are used by people from all walks of life.

Many of our clients simply want help with everyday aches, stiffness or restricted movement, so they can keep doing the things they enjoy.

What treatment should I book?

You don't need to diagnose yourself. Tell us what's been bothering you and your therapist will talk through the best options with you.

If it's tightness and tension, start with Oli. If something hurts and you're not sure why, start with Amy.

Does treatment hurt?

It should always stay at a level you're comfortable with. Some techniques can feel tender around sensitive areas, but deeper or more painful doesn't automatically mean better.

Keep talking to your therapist throughout, and tell them if anything's too much.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing or sportswear is ideal, especially as your therapist may want to look at how you move.

Is one appointment enough?

That depends on what brings you in. Some people come occasionally to keep on top of things, others need a few appointments while they sort out a particular problem.

After your assessment, your therapist will explain what they think is right, with no pressure to book more than you need.

Where do I go?

We're on the outskirts of Cockermouth, at Unit 5B, Lakeland Business Park. Turn onto the estate, take the first left and follow the signs for Unit 5.

Come inside and head up the stairs on the left, where you'll find the waiting area. Parking details to confirm with Oli.

What if I need to cancel or rearrange?

Give us at least 24 hours' notice and we'll move your appointment for you.

If you cancel within 24 hours, your deposit is lost. If you don't turn up at all, you'll be charged in full.

How much are appointments?

It depends on the treatment and how long you book. Every price is in the treatments section above, and on the booking page.

A deposit is taken when you book to secure your slot. NHS and Blue Light workers get 10% off.

Can I pay the rest in cash?

Yes. The deposit is paid online when you book, and you can pay the rest in cash on the day.
